Who: Jason Hutcheson
Where: Decatur, GA
What: All-natural soy candles and soaps.
Why: Growing up in a small town in South Georgia, Jason heard stories from his family of what it was like growing up: picking cotton, having to draw water from the well, etc. He was inspired by these old tales; especially by how his grandmother made soap for her ten children out of pig fat and wood ashes. For nostalgic purposes, Jason started making soap the old-fashioned way, but with soy instead of lard. He gave the soaps as gifts, but ultimately, he started a business.
When: Selling at HomeGrown since 2010.
