Who: Monica M. Martino
Where: Atlanta, GA
What: Fresh art with a sour twist; prints, pins, and shirts
Why: Monica was working as a producer for a documentary-reality TV series when she almost died while filming gold-miners in the Amazon. She spent the next two years pained from her back & shoulder injuries and the resulting surgeries. It was during her recovery time that Monica started painting and drawing again as a means to help herself heal and maintain sanity. Now that she’s back on her feet and working again, she still paints every day. Fate allowed her to tap into this creative side of herself that she’d forgotten about, and she won’t take this “second chance” for granted.
