Fun Things to Do in Decatur!

Looking for some fun activities to do in Decatur, Georgia? Look no further! Offering lots of fun shopping, Michelin-selected restaurants and community events, there's a reason why they say: it's greater in Decatur.

Street Festivals

Decatur hosts quite a few yearly street fests. No ticket necessary -- just come on by and browse vendor stalls, listen to live music, and hit the food trucks! There's a themed event just about every month (I'm talking wine festivals, I'm talking bonfires, I'm talking salsa. Decatur has got it all). Farmers Markets

Who doesn't love a good farmers market? Let alone one that's open twelve hours a day, seven days a week?! With a globally-sourced assortment of spices and ingredients and an impressive fresh produce selection to peruse, you can expect to sink an hour or two into browsing the Dekalb Farmers Market. Housed in a warehouse space, this market offers tons of options and a guaranteed fun time!

For a more traditional farmers market experience, the Decatur Farmers Market is a wonderful weekly tradition. From spring to fall it's held on Wednesdays between 4-7pm by the First Baptist Church of the Decatur. 

Nightlife

If you're looking for night life, you can trust Decatur to deliver. Check out Eddie's Attic for live music any night of the week. If you're a songwriter or want to check out local up-and-coming musicians, they host a competitive open mic night every other Monday.

In terms of atmosphere, S.O.S. Tiki Bar is hard to beat. With delicious themed cocktails, tropical decor and bartenders who know how to put on a show, stopping in for a drink is a guaranteed good time.

Shopping

We would be remiss to talk about fun things in Decatur without mentioning the shops! Check out our past blog post for more of a deep dive on local spots. Squash Blossom Boutique is another fun shop that features a curated selection of clothing, jewelry and funky accessories.
